This is a vintage open bookcase. An Asian, stained Hevea and cast iron shelving unit in Regency and Colonial revival taste, dating to the late 20th century, circa 1980.

Imposing and substantial, with generous shelf space
Displaying a desirable aged patina and in good order
Stained Hevea stocks show fine grain interest and deep caramel hues
Arranged as three shelves of graduated height, with useful shelf depth
Striking cast iron fretwork adorns the side supports
Robust and reassuringly strong, well suited to housing heavier volumes
