This is a small antique seamstress' button box. A Japanese, brass decorative tin, dating to the early Victorian period, circa 1850.
- Delicately crafted box with wonderful colour and detail
- Displays a desirable aged patina throughout with minimal tarnishing
- Fine brasswork displays warm golden tones with silvered beading to lid edge
- Decorated with relief cast foliate and bird motif to great effect
- Interior lightly time-worn with remnants of original silvered finish
This is a charming antique seamstress' button box, with an appealing Japanese decorative finish from the late Edo period (1603 - 1868) whilst under the Tokugawa shogunate. Delivered polished and ready to enjoy.
