This is large pair of antique fire dogs. An English, cast iron and brass andiron in Aesthetic Period taste, dating to the late Victorian era, circa 1890.

Distinguished and striking additions to the fireplace
Displaying a desirable aged patina and in good order
Quality cast iron presents a good, consistent graphite finish
Adorned with brass finials, showing deep golden hues
Superb birdcage twists add exceptional visual appeal
Broad arched front legs terminate with scrolled toes
Rear arms with angled branches can be placed both ways
Smaller finial providing a grooved section for placing fire tools
Rear support can host grates and baskets up to a depth of 22cm
