This is an antique Pembrokeshire spinning chair. A Welsh, carved oak work stool, dating to the Victorian period, circa 1880.
- Beautifully presented example with fascinating carved decoration
- Displays a desirable aged patina and in good order throughout
- Select oak stocks present fine grain interest and rich caramel hues
- Superb relief carvings accentuate the tall, narrow back rest and octagonal seat
- The crown atop the long backrest features a delightful heart motif
- Eye-catching water dragon relief to the backrest, the fins portrayed as acanthus carvings
- Back rest held securely with peg joints, which can be removed for storage
- Bold octagonal seat hosts a distinctive scaled tail within a wave motif
- Raised upon a quartet of bobbin turned legs and adorned with carved collars
