This is an antique Imari display plate. A Japanese hand-painted ceramic serving dish, dating to the late Victorian period, circa 1900.
- Charming example of Imari taste, graced with appealing colour
- Displays a desirable aged patina, gently time worn with use
- White ground distinctively accentuated with red and blue hues
- Endearing flared rim with wavy scalloped edge
- Central flower bouquet with blue petals and red leaves
- Issuing a trio of red decorative panels framing blue bands
- Light blue fruiting branch motif adorns the reverse, with circular bands to the foot
