This is an antique hand finished coal scuttle. An English, copper and brass fireside store or fuel keeper, dating to the mid Victorian period, circa 1860.
- Wonderfully traditional scuttle with a traditional, hand beaten form
- Displays a desirable aged patina and in good original order
- Quality copper presents warm amber hues with a light patination
- Gently patinated interior presents well for the age and intended use
- Rolled brass handle mounted upon club shaped backplates
- Shaped rear handle also crafted in brass, as is the base
- Raised upon a plinth foot with rolled edges
- Suitable for logs, kindling and all other fuel types
