Henry Brooks Ltd, London – manufacturer of piano actions, hammer heads & keyboards

In 1810 Henry Brooks formed his company and operated from 31 Lyme Street, Camden, London. Manufacturing quality keyboards, hammer heads and piano actions.

In the early part of the 20th Century, in 1920, Brooks merged with Herrburger, another very well respected piano action manufacturer, to become Herrburger Brooks. Operating right up until 1998 from Long Eaton, London they exhibited at the British Industries fair in 1947 then absorbed their Paris operation in 1953 to become Europe's largest piano action manufacturer.

In 1965 the business passed into the hands of Kimball International Inc (formerly Jasper Corporation) who sold on to Harmony Pianos of Hong Kong in 1996.
