This is an antique sampler stool. An English, walnut and boxwood embroidered decorative rest, dating to the William IV period, circa 1835.

Pleasingly embroidered low stool, ideal as a decorative piece
Displaying a desirable aged patina and in good original order
Superb walnut stocks present fine grain interest and rich caramel hues
Accentuated with delightful boxwood and walnut marquetry

Stout embroidered cushion top with minor loss commensurate with age
Needlepoint foliate pattern with cream over yellow and green hues
Traditionally stuffed cushion with a plump, robust feel
Raised upon a trio of distinctive china seed-shaped feet
