This is a William IV library writing table dating to c.1835.
A fine example of an English, study writing desk, or library table, presented in stunning antique condition. The fine quality leather skiver writing surface is triple tooled with embossed edge detailing.åÊ
In gorgeously figured mahogany with a very desirable tone, the desk height is 75cm making it very practical for every day use. It also features a finished rear so may be placed centre room if required.
Rising from original solid brass cap castors with tapered toe leading to rare and interesting octagonal legs topped by turned ball detailing. The elegant rounded top with moulded edge sits above a generous frieze featuring twin, smooth sliding, dovetailed drawers with turned pulls, original lock fittings and key.
