This is a vintage handheld tachometer. An English, enamelled alloy and glass decorative tool speed gauge by Smiths Instruments, dating to the mid 20th century, circa 1960.
- Untested, but in fine decorative condition for the collector of vintage gauges
- Displays a desirable aged patina throughout - minor wear commensurate with age and use
- Dark painted enamel body with delightfully contrasted white dial
- Measuring 6.5cm (2.5") in diameter, the dial reads from 0-500 revolutions
- Circular disc attaches to the input shaft for measuring lathe speed or similar
- Knurled adjustment knob to front selects the input speed from 500 to 50,000 RPM
- Sliding lock button set to the side, with push-through action
- Supplied within original leather covered case, original instruction panel to the interior
This is a fascinating vintage handheld tachometer, with a large dial and appealing mid-century industrial finish. Not tested as working, the gauge makes for a charming and interesting decorative piece. Delivered polished and ready to display.
