Victorian Serpentine Sideboard, c.1850
Our Stock # LFA-1376
This is an antique, Victorian credenza dating to c.1850.
Exquisitely dressed in bold carving of walnuts, fruit and foliate, the well figured select walnut really is first class adorned with walnut themed carvings and highlighted with boxwood and birch inlay to the frieze and central door corners.
In demi-lune, serpentine form the cabinet displays an ovular mirrored door to the front and further doors to the canted corners each concealing storage with inner shelves.
Above the fine marble serving surface, the arched mirror back is framed by a generous walnut bracket moulding dotted with pieced leaves and cresting with a carved decoration of an eagle.
