Victorian Cast Iron & Copper Tavern Garden Table

This is an antique, Victorian tavern table dating to the mid to late 19th century.
Extremely heavy this cast iron table offers a very strong and stable surface. English through and through, the moulding features Britannia presenting her shield at the top of each leg surrounded by foliate garlands splaying into the aprons that are punctuated by lion masks between.
The tapered cabriole legs are united by an under-tier stretcher and terminate in hairy lion's paw feet.
The hammered copper top contrasts the white painted frame and is in good order.
A super piece for the garden or conservatory in 'cast iron so loved by Victorian gardeners for both it's durability and weight giving excellent resistance to blowing over in the wind, delivered ready for the home.
