This is a vintage four fold privacy screen. A Japanese, lacquer and soapstone Art Deco revival room divider, dating to the late 20th century, circa 1970.
- Striking screen with wonderfully deep lacquer tones and appealing decor
- Displays a desirable aged patina throughout, extending smoothly
- Lacquer ground hosts ornate detail to each panel
- Beautifully accentuated in soapstone relief
- Folds away to a depth of 14cm (5.5'') for ease of storage
- Each panel extending to a maximum width of 165cm (65'')
- Reassuringly substantial panels with a stout, secure feel
- Front fascia adorned with relief birds and medallions of foliate interest
- Each bird and vase motif skilfully carved into relief from individual soapstone pieces
- Reverse hosts a quartet of panels with flying birds in a gilt outline
