This is a small antique apprentice's bureau. An English, mahogany and oak writing cabinet, dating to the Victorian period, circa 1880. 

• Charmingly petite bureau, well suited to the hall or alcove
• Displaying a desirable aged patina throughout
• Select mahogany stocks show fine grain interest and light russet hues

• Classic bureau form with a drop flap writing surface over three graduated drawers
• Dressed with working locks to each opening — key present
• Suite of four small drawers and document slides residing behind the fall front
• Working height of 82cm (32.25"), with an accommodating writing surface of 49.5cm x 41cm

• Fall supported by a pair of sliding lopers, dressed with small brass pulls
• Distinctive drop handles to each drawer, over bat wing backplates
• Shaped front and side aprons create a gallery with display surface
• Standing upon a quartet of demi-lune legs
