Regency Rosewood Mirror Back Cabinet

This is an antique, late Regency, mirror-back display cabinet dating to c.1830.
A flamboyant and exquisite example newly lined, the cabinet is presented in stunning condition throughout. The vigorous, deep carving, glorious grain figuring and rich hues of the dark rosewood, lustrous finish are accentuated by the vibrant, crushed velvet lining deepened by reflection in the original mirror plate back panel.
Rising on a continuous plinth, with carved embellishment featuring cherubs and foliate detailing, the cabinet offers tremendous depth of colour and huge interest. Twin glazed doors, with original locks and key, open to reveal a pair of fully lined shelves offering useful storage and display space.
The piece exhibits further wonderful carved mouldings which flank and centre the pair of doors. These are matched with an over-frieze and carving to the side.
A rare example in this condition and size and a superb item of English furniture, delivered waxed, polished and ready for the home.
