Pair of Vintage John Haig Whisky Decanters, English, Glass, Silver, Hallmarked
Our Stock # 26118
This is a pair of vintage John Haig whisky decanters. An English, glass and hallmarked silver Scotch vessel, dating to the early 20th century, circa 1930.
A fascinating original pair with delightful visual appeal; period-correct sets feature the named John Haig decanter for hosting the eponymous whisky, and the second, unmarked bottle would be used for holding water, or other spirits.
- Presenting a desirable aged patina and in good order
- Distinctive three-sided 'dimple' glass a Haig visual hallmark
- Sterling silver filigree frames sit neatly around the form
- Frames enhanced with engraved thistle motif, being the Scottish national flower
- Silver stoppers fit neatly within each rim, with tight-fitting cork
- Hallmarks upon the stoppers for Birmingham Medal Co, and the Birmingham assay office
- Alongside the Lion Rampant sits the date letter H for 1932
This is a superb original pair of vintage John Haig whisky decanters, being period correct and beautifully presented in Sterling silver over unusual, three-sided glass. A treat for the collector, or enjoyer of Scotch. Delivered ready for the home.
