This is a pair of antique andirons. A French, cast iron fireside fire dog or tool rests in Art Nouveau taste, dating to the late 19th century, circa 1900.

Superb and expressive forms in the Art Nouveau manner
Displaying a desirably aged patina and in good order
Cast iron displays a good, consistent graphite finish
Sinuous in form with spade motif supported by distinctive fishtail stands
Elegant stanchion leg to rear with scrolled toe
