This is a mid twentieth century butler's tray on stand.
A superior example, raised on a serpentine 'X' frame stand united by turned stretchers, the mid joint features a carved rosette detail. The table top beneath the tray faced with a baize.
The tray features the classic fold down sides typical of butler's trays, on this example shaped at the corners with rounded handles for comfort and good quality brass hinging. The tray top locates beautifully onto the stand providing a stable surface.
This example is finished in fine burr walnut with the most wonderful colour and grain detail all finished to a high shine. The tray top features a simple, fluted, quartered design.
A real cracker of a tray table ideal for afternoon tea. Solid joints and construction, delivered waxed, polished and ready for the home.
