This is a French, Louis Philippe, bonheur du jour, lady's writing desk.
Dating to c.1840 during the reign of King Louis Philippe (1830-1848), this elegant writing desk is finished in the finest, figured mahogany with oak lined drawers.
Raised on reeded, turned and tapered legs a frieze drawer sits beneath a sliding work surface inset with a dark blue skiver with dual border of a gold and blind tooling.
To the rear of the writing surface a double bank of three stationery drawers are surmounted by a pierced fretwork gallery back.
Good antique condition throughout, delivered waxed and polished ready for the home.
