This is an antique, late Victorian open bookshelf dating to c.1900.
The walnut glows in warm tones displaying good grain detail in the polished finish. Raised on arched feet shaped into the side panels, this bookcase carries clean lines modestly decorated with subtle fluting details to the side and shelf edges.
The four shelves are fully adjustable on brass brackets with the back of the cabinet finished in good quality panelled boards.
The top is in fine condition with attractive grain and a classic moulded edge. The well executed, bowed frieze features vertical reeding and flutes beneath a race of reciprocating ball and bar.
Elegant and understated, an item of quality with solid joints and construcrtion, delivered waxed, polished and ready for the home.
