This is an antique, Victorian pair of hall chairs dating to c.1880.
Beautifully crafted, this pair of oak chairs exhibit subtle details that add up to their superior quality; The proportional tapering of the bobbin turned legs, the stop ended chamfers to the rails and the quarter sawn English oak.
With Arts & Crafts overtones, the deep, rich browns of the select cuts of oak are finished with a lustrous waxed shine with a desirable patina.
The swept rear legs rise into the seat back featuring an 'X' frame, bobbin turned splat. The front legs rising into the seat rails supporting the planked seat panel with chamfered edge detail.
A fine pair of chairs delivered waxed, polished and ready for the home.
