This is a large vintage carved chest. A Burmese, solid teak decorative trunk, dating to the Art Deco period, circa 1930.  

• Profusely decorated, with wonderfully substantial stocks throughout
• Displays a desirable aged patina and in good order throughout
• Solid teak presents rich caramel hues and fine grain interest
• Protective, removable glass top for use as a distinctive coffee table

• Stout top with gently rolled edge hosts a striking carved frieze with foliate medallions
• Held securely with a large, engraved brass clasp to the fascia
• Opens to reveal a generous interior, replete with lidded candle box
• Through dovetail joints to the corners reveal the impressively thick 1'' stocks

• Set of four drawers along the lower edge with foliate carved fascia
• Fascinating pair of hidden drawers reside behind the middle two drawer fronts
• Each outer drawer dressed with brass drop handles
• Further pair of brass handles adorn the ends for ease of carriage
