This is a large antique silver chest. A Scottish, oak and iron bound heavy trunk, dating to the Victorian period, circa 1880. 

• Appealing late Victorian chest with superior proportion
• Displays a desirable aged patina and wonderfully clean interior
• Oak shows fine grain interest and wisps of medullary rays
• Graced with deep caramel and russet hues throughout

• Stout lid heavily strapped with iron brace and bound corners
• Bound to shoulders by four iron plates for supreme strength
• Substantial drop handles mounted to shaped backplates
• Engraved brass plaque for a Mr John Dalziel W.S of Edinburgh
• Rides upon a set of four brass castors
