This is a large antique dresser base. A Scottish, carved oak buffet or server, dating to the late Victorian period, circa 1880. 

• Of superb Scottish craftsmanship and impressive proportion
• Displaying a desirable aged patina and in good order throughout
• Quality oak stocks show fine grain interest beneath a wax polish finish
• Graced with caramel hues and wisps of medullary rays

• Deeply tiered top above two wide drawers, each dressed with brass drop handles
• Ovolo shaped drawer boxes with sinuous fascia
• Drawer interiors present saffron yellow baize linings, repeating throughout the dresser
• Arranged as a central cabinet with a pair of small side cupboards - brass locks, keys absent

• Two generously sized display galleries frame the central cabinet doors
• Decorated with leaf carved shoulders, turned supports and serpentine sash aprons
• Geometric field panels with S-scroll carvings adorn the larger central doors
• Dressed with a pair of brass lock escutcheons hosting drop pendant pulls — key absent

• Three dressed shelves to the left hand door alongside a single shelf over a sliding interior tray
• Side doors host grand shield cartouche carvings within a frieze panel and further leaf decoration
• The base of each cupboard interior further finished with the soft baize fabric
• Dresser standing prominently upon a deep, continuous plinth base with tiered edge
