This is a large, antique coffer. An English, pine storage chest or trunk and dating to the Victorian period, circa 1880.

- Stout lid supported by a pair of brackets and hinged arms
- Dressed with a brass lock escutcheon, key absent
- Each end featuring a thick, iron drop handle
- Raised upon a continuous plinth base
