This is a large antique chest of drawers. 17th century, English oak two part chest dating to circa 1700.
- Substantial two part chest on block feet
- Classic 17th century styling in the geometric decoration
- Desirable aged patina to the dark wax polished finish
- Broad three plank top running front to back
- Large castellated dentil moulding decorating the frieze
- Four broad, graduated, drawers with exceptionally deep second drawer
- Drawer slides a robust inch thick oak
- Pierced brass lock escutcheons, iron locks throughout, key absent
- Later, solid brass, swan neck drop handles
- Field panel ends and clean back panels
