This is a heavy vintage fireplace set. An English, cast iron fire basket and grate in Medieval revival taste, dating to the mid 20th century, circa 1950.
- Classic fireplace with strong medieval taste
- Displays a desirable aged patina – one repair to backplate present
- Good, consistent graphite finish throughout
- In four parts, with basket, grate and pair of andirons
- Of classic portcullis form, the bonded fire basket with half-dome backplate
- Wide fire grate separate to the basket affords ease of cleaning
- Pleasingly heavy fire dogs with baluster columns and generous cups of 8cm diameter (3.25")
- Raised upon demi-lune legs to front with splayed toes and long rear rests
