This is a heavy antique tobacco keeper. An English, lead decorative snuff box with tamper, dating to the William III period, circa 1700.
- Strikingly decorated late-17th century keeper, with wonderful detail
- Displays a desirable aged patina and in good original order
- Weathered lightly, the stout lead exudes aged character
- Substantial weight of 2.74kg (6.04 lb) and a cool, tactile feeling in the hand
- The domed lid topped with a finial bearing a resemblance to William Shakespeare
- Each side hosts an ornate hunting scene frieze
- The clean interior features a removable lead trapper
- Standing upon distinctive bear feet to each corner
