This is a heavy antique public house fire back. An English, cast iron hearth reflector, dating to the Georgian period, circa 1800.
- Admirably substantial example, with relief personalised for a Royal Oak public house
- Displays a desirable aged patina and in good order
- Resplendent in appealing black tonality from the consistent graphite finish
- Seriously heavy, weighing approximately 100kg plus for further decades of duty
- Wonderful relief casting of a mighty oak tree adorns the fascia
- Profuse branch and root detail spreads across the reflector
- Sash ribbon to the base of the trunk reads The Royal Oak, a classically British tavern name
