Georgian Walnut Chest on Stand
Our Stock # LFA-1174
This is an English, George II chest on stand in dating to c.1750.
Beautifully proportioned in a '3 over 3 over 1' configuration, the chest is raised on a stand dressed with a deep, shaped apron housing a single full width drawer and standing upon four solid cabriole legs terminating in moulded heart shaped pad feet.
Displaying superb patina, the burr walnut veneered drawers are crossbanded, dressed with brass, swan neck drop handles and feature period iron locks (without key). The lower drawers with batwing escutcheons are complimented by the upper three with oval plate. All drawers are oak lined with attractive dovetailing.
The chest is surmounted with an attractive moulded cornice bringing balance to the proportions and displays beautiful wisps of medullary rays to the returns.
A stunning piece in good antique condition, robust with solid joints delivered waxed and polished ready for the home.
