This is an antique, Georgian fold over card table dating to c.1800.
Modestly understated, this lovely example has clean lines and a deep, lustrous finish. The grain detail of the top is complemented by swirls in the choice veneer to the frieze detail and the cock beaded drawer is dressed with a solid brass pull.
Closed, the edge detail to the top features a double row string of elliptical lozenges. The square section legs are chamfered on the inside with one of the rear legs opening to provide support for the green baized interior that neatly folds out.
A smashing little games table that works equally well as a side, tea or lamp table for the drawing room or hall. Delivered waxed, polished and ready for the home.
