This is a late Georgian (c.1800), English Lowboy in Mahogany with ebony and boxwood inlay.
This piece is a glorious example of late Georgian furniture which is synonymous with elegance, simple pared-back form and quality craftsmanship using quality, durable materials.
The rich patina exhibited in the mahogany is beautifully framed by a box wood and ebony inlaid border. The piece sits on cabriole legs to the front with pad feet and the oak lined drawers have brass, drop ring handles with backplates.
The whole has a modern aesthetic and is a marriage of form and function that is well suited to the rigueurs of daily use in the 21st Century and will , likely as not, serve another 200 years.
