This is an antique, English, Georgian, large oak corner display cabinet, c.1780.
This stunning corner wall cabinet is presented in very good antique condition, complete with working lock and key, cock beading and fine detailing throughout.
Rising on a narrow trim base moulding, the taller, more generously proportioned cabinets with a drawer beneath are rarer to find with this example finished in quarter-sawn oak displaying fine grain and colour.åÊ
The field panel doors with brass closing trim are bead edged. An inset frame string detail with central marquetry cartouche in yew features Brittania, her shield displaying the pre-1801 King's Colours Great Union Flag. Above the doors a generous frieze sits beneath an attractive crown moulding.
The clean interior features a pair of serpentine shelves, perfect for display and storage with the lower, shaped drawer dressed with brass pulls.
Solidly constructed and supplied with fixing plates for easy mounting, an attractive utility item in very good condition and a piece to be welcomed into any location. Delivered waxed, polished & ready for the home.åÊ
