This is an antique, English oak sideboard dating to c.1910.
In superior condition, this sideboard presents ecclesiastical overtones with a refectory style base on quatrefoil feet, rising through bulbous carved legs to a lower rope twist platform supporting the relief carved cabinet.
Three field panel doors, hung with hand beaten and riveted iron hinges, feature 'linen fold' carving and working locks with iron key escutcheons. Above each door is a drawer with foliate carving and a brass pull decorated with flowerhead.
The well figured top surface is divided into three sections by cross stretchers and projects over the cabinet with moulded finish.
