This is a Chinese camphor wood chest with oriental inlaid scenes. A trunk dating to the Art Deco period of the mid 20th century, circa 1940.
- Fabulously decorated with inlaid panel scenes
- Delineated with foliate carved perimeter bands
- Standing upon carved feet in the form of dogs
- The panels displaying figures and incidental landscape
- Typical circular catch plate with shaped hasp
- Opening to reveal generous storage within and a removable tray
- Accompanied by the wonderful aroma of the camphor wood
