Art Deco Walnut Writing Table, c.1930
Our Stock # LFA-1235
This is an English, Art Deco period, antique writing desk dating to c.1930.
Rising from claw and ball feet through slender cabriole legs the table features a central wide drawer flanked either side by twin drawers. The generous height of the kneehole is dressed with an elliptical bracket. Original brass baluster drop handles with round backplates dress the oak lined drawers featuring strong dovetails and finished in burr walnut.
The top surface is an exquisite example of the finest burr walnut displaying attractive grain detail with a deep, lustrous sheen and edged by a complimentary moulding. To the rear the two and a half inch upstand is in perfect proportion and finishes the piece nicely.
A superior example delivered waxed, polished and ready for the home.
