Art Deco Ebonised Screen, 6 Fold Panel, c.1935
Our Stock # LFA-1275
This is an antique, Art Deco period six fold ebonised screen dating to c.1935.
Framed in a band of golden decoration and double sided, the front of this panel is exquisitely decorated in a profusion of coloured soap stone depicting a wooded scene, with all manor of birds and floral detail that jumps out of the ebonised, Japanned background.
A secondary scene at the foot of the panels is equally well executed and colourful and grounds the design above the geometric shaped legs that terminate in brass cupped feet.
The reverse displays a repeating pattern of foliate and rosette detail in gold on the Japanned black background.
This panel makes an excellent prop or wall panel as well as serving as a screen or room divide. The six, hinged, shaped panels can free stand or fold out completely flat for wall mounting
A delightful piece of immense interest, delivered ready for use.
