This is an antique writing desk. An English, mahogany and leather side table, dating to the Edwardian period, circa 1910.
- Charming desk with eye-catching blue skiver
- Displays a desirable aged patina
- Mahogany shows fine grain interest
- Rich hues throughout its wax polish finish
- Top replete with skiver featuring embossed gold tooling — in good order
- Pair of drawers decorated with reeded bands to fascia
- Dressed with an inset brass lined lock — key absent
- Opened with square shaped handles on detailed backplates
- Gallery front apron adds a distinctive look with shaped upper brackets hosting drop pendant finials
- Strong fluted shoulders united by continuation of the decorative banding
- Raised on turned legs with copious banding detail
- Riding upon a set of four brass and ceramic castors
