This is an antique window seat. An English, Victorian, upholstered ottoman dating to the late 19th century, circa 1900.

Classic sarcophagus shape, pinched at the waist
Stuffed top over robust frame providing a firm, stable seat
Currently upholstered in rich napped cloth, in good order

Hinged tilt top rises to reveal voluminous storage space within
Clean lining with stays to hold lid upright
Riding on the original ceramic castors
