This is an antique whatnot, an English, walnut, three-tier, Victorian display stand dating to the mid 19th century, circa 1850.
- Delightful, rich tones to the select walnut
- Good consistent colour in the wax polished finish
- Grain interest with a desirable aged patina
- Featuring a three-quarter, shaped marquetry up-stand
- Inlaid with scroll and foliate detail in the classical taste
- Serpentine tier fronts and turned finials
- Attractive barley twist columns to the fore
- Ring turned columns to the rear
- Raised upon squat turned legs
- Riding upon the original brass castors
