This is an antique whatnot. An English, mahogany four tier display stand, dating to the early Victorian period, circa 1850.
- Attractive example of Victorian display furniture
- Displays a desirable aged patina
- Select mahogany with rich russet hues
- Fine grain interest showing through the wax polish finish
- The upper tier with short carved finials to each corner
- Turned baluster supports united by thick, square section shoulders
- Each tier finished with discrete tiered edges
- Opening cupboard to the base with door to one end
- Cabinet door dressed with a small brass loop handle and sliding clasp
- Raised upon a quartet of squat bun feet
This is an attractive and versatile antique whatnot, with great Victorian craftsmanship and appealing hues. Solid joints and construction, delivered waxed, polished and ready for the home.
