This is an antique torchere, an English, William IV plant stand in mahogany dating to circa 1835. 

  • Attractive colour and graining to the solid mahogany
  • Of quality craftsmanship with a desirable aged patina
  • Offering a weighty, solid, robust and stable platform
  • Lipped circular top 25cm (9.75") in diameter
  • Tapering octagonal pillar with carved foliate detail at the top
  • Pinched waist and rising from bell flower carving
  • Anchored in a quadripartite base with scrolled mounts
  • Small, plain brass plaque ready for inscribing
  • Standing upon four, scrolled feet

A fine example of an antique torchere in very good order. Solid joints and construction, delivered waxed, polished and ready for the home.
