This is an antique torchere, an English, William IV plant stand in mahogany dating to circa 1835.
- Attractive colour and graining to the solid mahogany
- Of quality craftsmanship with a desirable aged patina
- Offering a weighty, solid, robust and stable platform
- Lipped circular top 25cm (9.75") in diameter
- Tapering octagonal pillar with carved foliate detail at the top
- Pinched waist and rising from bell flower carving
- Anchored in a quadripartite base with scrolled mounts
- Small, plain brass plaque ready for inscribing
- Standing upon four, scrolled feet
A fine example of an antique torchere in very good order. Solid joints and construction, delivered waxed, polished and ready for the home.
