This is an antique tea table, a Dutch, fold over, inlaid, mahogany side table dating to circa 1780.
- Mahogany with grain interest and good colour throughout
- Desirable aged patina with a wax polished finish
- Extensively decorated with well executed, boxwood and holly inlay
- The demi-lune top profusely and attractively decorated
- Floral and foliate garlands with cockerels framed in tram line string borders
- Drawer fronts and legs similarly adorned with inlay
- Rear centre leg withdraws to offer support for fold over top
- Well hinged, the open top presents a pair of ovular inlaid garland decorations
- Beneath a pair of dovetailed, oak lined, beetle wing drawers offer useful storage
- Brass locks present, key absent
A fine example in good condition showing desirable wear to the open top, consistent with age and careful use. Solid joints and construction, delivered waxed, polished and ready for the home.
