This is an antique side table. An English, mahogany and walnut lamp or occasional table, dating to the Regency period, circa 1820. 

• Delightfully finished, attractive Regency craftsmanship
• Displaying a desirable aged patina and in good order
• Select mahogany and walnut showing fine grain interest and rich russet hues
• Ebonised mahogany draws the eye with deep black lustre

• The oval top a treat with satinwood inlaid border framing a superbly figured centrepiece
• Ebonised apron decorated with a band of golden stringing, intersected by each of the four leg supports
• Hidden drawer to front, opening smoothly with blind pull to the underside

• Decorative stringing continuing upon the quartet of slender legs
• Lower shelf to centre, united by four serpentine stretcher supports
• The gently splayed legs at canted angles with square section toes

This is a striking antique side table, with its hidden drawer adding further delight to the beautifully figured piece. A desirable example of Regency period furniture, this table is well suited to occasional use or central room placement.
