This is an antique shipwright's tool chest. An English, Victorian pine trunk dating to the mid 19th century, circa 1850.
- Crafted in antique pine displaying grain interest throughout
- Good consistent colour and a desirable aged patina
- Opening lid rests upon a stout bracket to the rear
- Chest displays dovetail joinery at each corner and sits within a continuous plinth base
- Featuring the original brass lock, key absent, and brass keyhole escutcheon
- The generous internal chest hosts a suite of removable mahogany trays
- Compartments are well suited to a variety of items – originally hosting a shipwright's tools
- A pair of stout rope handles at the end for easy carriage
