This is an antique shipwright's chest. An English, ebonised pine craftsman's tool trunk, dating to the late Victorian period, circa 1900.
- Pleasingly aged maritime chest with useful interior
- Displays a desirable aged patina throughout
- Ebonised pine shows charming patination with dark hues
- Traditionally waxed lid presents bright caramel hues
- Stout lid opens smoothly, coming to rest on a rear brace
- Sliding tool trays within, presented in a light chestnut hue
- Dressed with an oval brass lock escutcheon — in working order, key present
- Period charm to key with a 1919 English 1 Penny coin fob
- Flat planked top ideal for use as a coffee table
- Robust iron drop handles to either side for ease of carriage
- Standing upon a deep, continuous plinth foot
