This is an antique shipwright's chest. An English, pine craftsman's tool trunk, dating to the late Victorian period, circa 1900.

- Stout lid opens smoothly, coming to rest on a rear brace
- Appealing, natural interior beams in saffron yellow hues
- Dressed with a brass clasp to the centre

- The lid bears the monogram JR in brass effect lettering
- Broad pine keeps house a pair of rope handles
- Visible dovetail joint construction shows the durable, lasting nature
