This is an antique ship's log desk ornament. An English, brass and oak maritime display instrument, dating to the early 20th century, circa 1920.
- Charming nautical interest, presented for display
- Displaying a desirable aged patina and in good order
- Polished brass casing presents superb golden tonality
- Quality oak plinth shows fine grain interest and light caramel hues
- Cherub Mk.II log dial mounted upon a fixed bracket
- Ceramic dial set behind an opening glass porthole door - some age related loss present
- Annotated with a main log of 0-100 miles, with an auxiliary dial for 1-10 miles
- Replete with the distinctive trailing fin and hook
- Extensively engraved to rear of log with the Thos. Walker maker's mark
- Thomas Walker of Birmingham further noted upon the dial
- T.W. Anchor trade mark engraved to each trailing fin
