This is an antique ship's log desk ornament. An English, brass and oak maritime display instrument, dating to the early 20th century, circa 1920. 

• Charming nautical interest, presented for display
• Displaying a desirable aged patina and in good order
• Polished brass casing presents superb golden tonality
• Quality oak plinth shows fine grain interest and light caramel hues

• Cherub Mk.II log dial mounted upon a fixed bracket
• Ceramic dial set behind an opening glass porthole door - some age related loss present
• Annotated with a main log of 0-100 miles, with an auxiliary dial for 1-10 miles

• Replete with the distinctive trailing fin and hook
• Extensively engraved to rear of log with the Thos. Walker maker's mark
• Thomas Walker of Birmingham further noted upon the dial
• T.W. Anchor trade mark engraved to each trailing fin
