This is an antique serving table dating to the Regency period c.1830.
In the manner of Gillows, a fine example in superior mahogany stock, this piece is raised on square section rear legs and bold, elaborate cabrioles to the front; The high quality acanthus leaf carving to the knees features scrollwork to the sides and deep fluting down to the lion's paw feet that stand upon ball and plinth.
A pair of serpentine, field panel, frieze drawers are delineated with carved 'C' scrolls and dressed with gilded brass drop handles. The generous think stock of the fronts is complimented by the quality of the drawer linings and construction.
The shaped top displays beautiful grain detail and patina with complex edge moulding. The deep colour glowing though the polished waxed finish.
