This is an antique railway carriage chest. An English, pine mail trunk with GWR detail, dating to the Edwardian period, circa 1910.

- Stained pine with dark hues throughout
- The lid finished with the GWR initials
- Opening smoothly and held in place by a chain link
- Long iron clasp to front with diamond-shape latch
- Large travel memorandum to the lid, dated to 1911
- Smaller, unmarked label upon the front fascia
- Dressed with a pair of iron drop handles to each side
